Read More	LAST RITES HELD FOR REX POLLOCK LAST SATURDAY Death Came Suddenly Last Thursday Morning After Heart Attack Mention was made in those columns last week of the death of Rex Pollock, of this city, on Thursday morning, January 3, 1935, at his home, following a sudden attack of heart trouble, aged 40 years, 10 months and 2 days. Robert Rex Pollock, son of Hugh and Stella Pollock, was born March 5, 1888, on the Pollock homestead in Portland Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, where he grew to manhood, and attended country and town schools. On May 20, 1914, he was united in marriage with Neva Viola Stinton. To this union five children—two sons and three daughters—were born. After their marriage they moved onto a farm near Adaville, this County, and in 1918 to his father's farm in Portland Township. They resided there until the spring of 1921 and then took up their residence in Akron. That fall they moved to Yankton, S.D., and after two years’ residence there they moved back to Akron, which has since remained the family home. Mr. Pollock ad been employed at trucking for August Lundgren since 1929 until a year ago in December, when he was stricken with heart trouble; but in February, 1934, he was able to resume work at the Lundgren gas station, where he was employed up to the evening before his death. A man of steady, industrious habits, a kinds husband and father and loyal friend, he will be widely missed in the community where he has spent nearly his entire life. Left to mourn his untimely departure are his wife; five children, Robert, Roberta, Irma, Alden and Charlene, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Pollock, of Akron; one sister, Mrs. Louis Koch, of Akron, and one brother, Arden Pollock, of Sioux City. One brother, Clyde Pollock, preceded him in death. Mr. Pollock was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at 2 o'clock at the Akron Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. .J.F. Moore. There was a large attendance. The Adaville quartet sang, "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me," "Waiting and Watching" and "Welcoming Him Home." The pallbearers were Carl King, Ole Claasson, Melvin Lundberg, Alvin Manning, Vernon Hilliker and Edmund Heider, follow employees of the deceased with the Lundgren Motor Service. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Relatives who came from a distance were: Mrs. Margaret Wise, Claude and Lillian Armstrong, of Lake View, Iowa; D.A. Rhea, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Arch Rhea, Mrs. Elise Young, Mrs. Henry Leatungus, of Beresford, S.D.; Mrs. Robert Murphey, of Parker S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Winkler, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fletcher, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Stinton, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Palm, Mrs. Alma Sauford, all of Sioux City.
