Description	:	PLATTSMOUTH — Robert Ronald Craig, 93, of Plattsmouth, formerly of Central City, died on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in Plattsmouth. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Central City with the Rev. Tess Hufford officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. Robert Ronald was born on Feb. 15, 1922, in Belgrade to Jesse and Rachel (Weatherson) Craig. Ron grew up in rural Fullerton and graduated from Fullerton High School. After he graduated from high school, he entered the United States Army, where he served his country proudly during World War II from Aug. 27, 1940, until Oct. 31, 1945. While serving his country, Ron earned several medals for his service, including the American Defense Medal, American Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. After returning from the military, he moved to Broken Bow, where he worked on several ranches. Ron then married Vera Hagen and moved to Central City, where he was a custodian for Central City High School until his retirement. Ron was a member of the United Methodist Church in Central City, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Grand Island Saddle Club. He loved to work in his garden, as well as hunting and fishing. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Vera Craig; his stepsons, Gary and Michele Christensen and Richard Christensen; his children; Robert Craig Jr., Nancy Craig, Rita Frith and Shirley Craig; his stepdaughter, Neola McAlvey; and his sister, Carol Craig. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Craig; and two brothers; Joe Craig and Lowell Craig.
