| Description | : | A military graveside service was held at Pleasant Hill cemetery in Concordia Friday morning at 10 o'clock for Pfc. Robert Sjolander, who was killed in action in Korea. American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and their auxiliaries were in charge of the ritual and the Rev. Lowell Herrick was pastor. Private Sjolander was killed August 15, 1950, when North Korean troops overtook his unit's position on the Naktong river near Yongsan. He joined the army December 19, 1949, and left the United States in July, 1950. He arrived in Pusan, Korea, on August 1 last year.
