| Description | : | Robert Stephens was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Benjamin Stephens and Deborah Dungan. He came to Coshocton county from Fayette County, Pa. in the early 1830's with his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jane. Several of his other sons were already in residence. Research indicates that his first wife was Catharine Beazel, daughter of Mathew Beazel of Westmoreland Co., Pa., although no marriage records have yet been found.
