Jr. On May 9, 1953, he married Mary Ledwedge, who preceded him in death. On Feb 5, 1994, he married Jane (Pentenburg) Ruen, who survives in Lima. Deceased are a brother, Tom (Carol); two sisters: Christine (Gene) Lehmkuhl and Helen (Barney) Hasson; six brothers-in-law: Jim Bartlett, and John, Louis, George, Tom and Dan Pentenburg; three sisters-in-law: Louise Pentenburg, Frances Rhine and Mary Bowman. A graduate of St. John’s High School, Lima, he attended Xavier University. He proudly served his country as a member the United States Army Air Force in Japan. He retired in 1991 after a lifelong career in banking. He was a former member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, and a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and volunteered for various activities. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #2661, the VFW Post #1275, both Lima, and the American Legion Post #323, St. Marys. He was a past President of The St. Marys Rotary Club. He was a volunteer at St. Rita’s Medical Center and Lima Memorial Hospital, where he worked with mobile meals. He enjoyed vacationing in Michigan, photography and music. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Detroit Tigers. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima, with Rev. Jim Szobonya officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys, after a luncheon at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lima.
