Description	:	Vernon Tyler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas Tyler died at the Cottage Hospital at Creston Thursday morning of this week at 1:15 a.m. as a result of injuries received when he was kicked by a horse Monday morning at the home of Will Walters four miles south of Brooks. Read More	Vernon Tyler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas Tyler died at the Cottage Hospital at Creston Thursday morning of this week at 1:15 a.m. as a result of injuries received when he was kicked by a horse Monday morning at the home of Will Walters four miles south of Brooks. Mr. Tyler was working at the Walters farm by the month. About 11 o'clock Monday forenoon he was doing a few small chores about the barnyard. Among other things he was feeding there horses in the barn. He just entered the barn and was walking behind the horses with a measure of oats, which he was feeding the animals. When he was directly behind a colt in the bar it kicked him, planting both feet in the young man's abdomen. He was discovered by the Walters family and was then to the house and medical aid was summoned. He was cared for at the house until Wednesday morning when it was decided to take him to the hospital in creston. He was taken to the Cottage Hospital at 2 o'clock submitted to an operation. He passed through the operation alright and appeared to be able to recover. However, inflammation and infection set in and he died at 1:15 a.m Thursday. His injury was a very serious one. His bladder and intestines were badly torn and mangles. The remains were taken to Villisca Thursday on No. 3 and were taken to the Robert Wilkey home. Robert Vernon Tyler was born in Taylor County, Iowa, January 2, 1896 and at the time of his death was 19 yers, 10 months, and 9 days old. Beside his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas Tyler, the deceased leaves three brothers, and one sister to mourn his loss. They are George, Marion, Paul, Letha, all living with their parents. The incident cast a dark shadow over the community, where the unfortunate young man lived. There funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Friday at 1 o'clock conducted by Rev. E. S.
