Robert Willard Easter Funeral services were held February 11, 1978 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, Whiting, New Jersey, For Robert Willard Easter, 60. He was born July 1, 1917 on the Easter family farm East of Harrisburg, Iowa to James Monroe and Leta Gertrude (Erhart) Easter. He died February 7, 1978 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, New Jersey. He had lived in Whiting since 1972, and before that in Woodside New York. Mr. Easter had been a purchasing agent for the General Services Administration for 34 years prior to his retirement in 1973. He was a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer and a Veteran of World War II. In 1945 he married Rita O'Donnell of New York. They lived most of their married life in Long Island City, New York. Survivors include his widow, Rita O'Donnell Easter, a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen (Paul) Lantz, Seattle, Washington; his mother Mrs. Leta G. (James M.) Easter, Bonaparte, Iowa; a brother, Charles (Bill) Easter, Bonaparte; Three sisters, Mrs. Roberta (Arthur) Roberts, Bonaparte; Mrs. Edith (Chuck) Harness, New London, Iowa; and Mrs. Katherine (Raymond) Dhority, Moravia, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father in 1977 James Monroe Easter and in 1916 twin brothers John and Hugh Easter. Services were held at Whiting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11. Burial was in the Whiting Memorial Cemetery. Robert was a member of the V.F.W. Post 8745 at Whiting, The National Enlisted Reserve Association, and the Fishing Club, Bowling League and Bridge Club of Crestwood Village, Whiting, New Jersey.
