Robert's family and casketbearers are asked to meet at the Miller/Huebl Funeral Home in Aberdeen 12:15 pm Wednesday. Born Robert Wallace Senn, son of Julia N. Hanson and Albert Edward Senn was born May 19, 1925 at Wessington Springs. At an early age he moved with his family to Ipswich where he started school They then moved to Bowdle where Robert grew to adulthood and graduated from Bowdle High School. He served his country in the United States Navy being inducted May 14 1943. Following his honorable discharge on May 18, 1946, he returned to Bowdle and worked for his parents at their newspaper the Bowdle Pioneer. He married Geraldine C. Dewald on July 5, 1952. They moved to Hoven in 1954 where they owned and operated the Hoven Review for 18 years They sold the newspaper and moved to Aberdeen in June 1973 where Robert worked for Kirby Vacuum for 13 years. He then employed for three years at both the Lakewood Mall and the Super City Mall before retiring. He continued living in Aberdeen until February, 2003 when he moved to Holy Infant Hospital in Hoven where he lived the remainder of his life. Robert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen and the John J. Peters American Legion Post No 159 Hoven, SD. Family members surviving Robert include his wife Geraldine Senn of the Holy Infant Hospital Hoven 2 daughters Joan Minnaert and her husband Fran of Omaha Neb. and Laurie DeRouchey and her husband Dale of Hoven; 2 sisters Patricia Dewald and her husband, Joe B. of Bowdle and Alberta Oster and her husband, Wally of Jefferson, Ore and 6 Grandchildren, Ryan DeRouchey, Lynn DeRouchey Simon, Amber DeRouchey Johnson, Holly DeRouchey, Maren Minnaert, and Brynn Minnaert. Casketbearers will be Ryan DeRouchey of Aberdeen, Kent Simon of Madison Minn, Scott Johnson of Hoven, and Gordon Huber of Hoven, David Buechler of Bowdle and Patrick Dewald of Roscoe. Lien Funeral Home, Bowdle, is in charge of arrangements.
