Pleasant died Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 5:15 a.m. at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. He was born Oct. 9, 1898, in Lee County, Iowa, the son of Robert and Cora Hicks Bonser. On Aug. 6, 1922, at Mt. Pleasant, he was married to Edith Jennings. Mr. Bonser was a retired worker for the CB&Q railroad and a member of the Rome Baptist Church. Pleasant; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one brother, Lawrence Bonser, Loveland, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister and one grandson. Funeral services will be held from the Rome Baptist Church on Friday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Williams, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery. A memorial fund to the Rome Baptist Church has been established in memory of Mr. Bonser. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Beatty Jennings Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at Beatty-Jennings in Mt. Pleasant.
