Main St., Mount Pleasant, died early Wednesday evening, July 24, 2002, at her daughter's residence in Mount Pleasant. Born Sept. 8, 1926, in rural Henry County, she was the daughter of Robert Ward and Edith Jennings Bonser. On May 11, 1944, she married Ledru Wesley Beaber in Leesville, La. He died July 23, 1977. Mrs. Beaber worked as a resident treatment worker (RTW) at the Mental Health Institute in Mount Pleasant. She then worked for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and the Emerson Co. (later Motorola) in Mount Pleasant. She returned to her RTW position in 1978 and worked there until 1986. Most recently, she worked for the home health care department of Regional Health Services of Donnellson. She retired June 30 due to her health. She was a 1943 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She was a member of Rome (Iowa) Baptist Church. She loved to watch Little League ball games. She also liked to watch her nephew, NASCAR driver Jimmy Inglebright, race. She was a diligent and caring worker. Survivors include one daughter, Karen Wenzel of Mount Pleasant; one son, Tony Beaber of Mount Pleasant; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ward Bonser of Vacaville, Calif., Robert Bonser of Fairfield, Calif., Jerry and Annabelle Bonser of Mount Pleasdant and Joseph "Joe" Bonser of Valdosta, Ga.; four sisters, Helen Kauffman of East Dundee, Ill., Judy Inglebright of Fairfield, Calif., Patti Wiles of Austin, Texas, and Edee Bruggemeyer of Mount Pleasant. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one sister. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation. The funeral for Mrs. Beaber will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Revs. David R. Plooster of First Baptist Church and John Royer of Rome Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery in rural Rome. Memorials have been established for First Baptist Church of Mount Pleasant and Rome Baptist Church.
