The daughter of Floyd Lazelle and Zella Jewell (Beeler) Roberts, she was born in Lancaster, Missouri on May 30, 1932. Roberta grew up in the Lancaster area where she graduated from the Lancaster High School. She was united in marriage on December 24, 1955 to Earl Kapfer, who survives. Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 sons, Rickey Martin and his wife Beverley of Lancaster, Missouri and Carl Kapfer and his wife, Nancy of Memphis, Missouri; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Rhonda) Tarr of Greentop, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, Melissa Burgess and husband, Joe, Jeffrey Martin and wife Crystal, Weston Martin, Kirby Martin, Brock Rainey, Eric Rainey and wife Sarah, Kari Morgenstern and husband, Steve, Kami Hubbard and husband, Larry, Rona Mallicoat and husband, Scott, Michael Tarr, Rebekah Kapfer, Zachary Kapfer, Cristie Eslinger, Andy Eslinger, and Brandy Childress; 22 Great grandchildren, Cody Earl Morgenstern, Michael Scott Morgenstern, Rayne Marie Simonton, Lottie Suzanne Shrouf, Ace MacKenzie Hubbard, Sophie Jewell Hubbard, Ashley Marie Ott, Samantha Kaye Ott, Nicole Lynn Martin, Khyrstyne Elane Martin, Tiffany Alisha Burgess, Yvonne Marie Burgess, Deianeira Starr Burgess, Luke Lane Burgess, Stevie Skow, Brooklyn Mallicoat, Nathan Butler, Alex Rainey, Shelby Lynn Roberts, Landon Hubbard, Logan Hubbard and Chloe Hubbard; One brother, Gary (Bosco) Roberts and wife Bernadine of Lancaster, Missouri; One Sister, Mrs. Basil (Patricia) Hunt of St. Louis, Missouri; Two sister in laws, Vangie Roberts of Lancaster, Missouri and Barbara Roberts of rural Lancaster, Missouri and 2 brother in laws, Max and Marvin Kapfer. Roberta and Earl have lived on a farm near Baring, Missouri for nearly forty four years. She was a member of the Greensburg Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Donnie Roberts and Richard Roberts. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Brent Fleshman officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Maureen Watkins. Special taped selections will be "The Rose" and "Wind Beneath My Wings". Pallbearers will be Charles McFarland, L. P. Mayfield, Joel Kapfer, Ralph Johnston, Larry Schrage, Garry Poe, Stacy Morgenstern and Chris Morgenstein. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2001 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri from the hours of 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A memorial has been established for Hospice 2000. Interment will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
