Description	:	Services were held Friday, June 20 at the Good News Reformed Church in Sioux Falls for Roberta Bossman, 97, who died Tuesday morning, June 17, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, SD. Officiating during the services was the Rev. Kevin Schneider. Dorothy Bockoven was pianist. Alan Bossman sang "How Great Thou Art" and "He Touched Me". Pallbearers were Larry Anderson, Gerry Bossman, Justin Bossman, Tim Bossman, Robert Lyons, and Michael Bossman. Interment was held in the Hartford Cemetery. Roberta Irene Crist was born Jan. 22, 1911, in Lewis County, MI, the daughter of James William, "Bill" and Johanna "Nora" (Tieman) Crist. With her brother Dale, the family lived on a farm owned by her grandmother. The family moved to a farm between Davis and Chancellor when Roberta was seven or eight, She attended country school and graduated from Lennox High School in 1929. She married Justus Bossman at her parent's farm home. The couple farmed near Hartford and together had seven children. Justus died in 1966. Roberta moved into a home on Hartford's Main Street. She worked for a time at Gamble's Hardware store in Hartford, Fantel's Department store in Sioux Falls and for the West Central School District as a cook for 10 years. After retiring she moved into Lennox to be near her brother. She later moved into Sioux Falls so she could attend her grandchildren's activities. She returned to Hartford in 2000 to the Leisure Living Apartments and the Good Samaritan Village in 2007. Besides her parents, husband and brother, Roberta was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Sue, in infancy, two sons: James in 1988 and Donald in 2004, a granddaughter, Susan Lyons in 2004 and three great-grandchildren. Grateful for having shared her life are her surviving children: Darlene (Chuck) Jones, Sioux Falls, Robert Bossman, Hartford, Betty (George) Lyons, Canfield, OH and Lloyd (Linda) Bossman, Pleasant View, UT; 28 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren and well as other relatives and friends
