Description	:	PRESQUE ISLE - On April 23, 2021, Rodney (Tiny) Carl Merriam left this world. Rodney was born and raised in Presque Isle and joined the Navy right out of high school. After completing his military service, Rodney began his 27 year career with the Presque Isle Fire Department. Read More	PRESQUE ISLE - On April 23, 2021, Rodney (Tiny) Carl Merriam left this world. Rodney was born and raised in Presque Isle and joined the Navy right out of high school. After completing his military service, Rodney began his 27 year career with the Presque Isle Fire Department. He ran a small sign business and spent 19 years driving school bus for Presque Isle Schools. He was an avid lover of nature, whether it was riding around on his boat on St. Froid Lake, traveling with his camper, just sitting outside by a fire, or looking out from his garage, Rodney preferred to spend his free time outside. He loved his time having coffee with other firefighters and being with family. This strong and steady man will be greatly missed. Rodney will be remembered for his hard work, laid back attitude, wisdom, strength, and big contagious belly laugh. Rodney was so much more than these few words, and everyone who knew him will miss him dearly. Rodney was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his wife, Helen, and his daughters Laura Merriam and Gayle Martin, and her husband, Colby. His grandchildren and their spouses Jeremy and Courtney Miller, Taylor and Haley Miller and their son Jackson, Haley Martin, Shawna Martin, Katherine Martin, and Audrey Martin. He also leaves behind his sister Mary Inglis and her husband Wayne of Connecticut, sister-in-law Judith Merriam of Kentucky, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rodney is predeceased by his parents Margret and Donald Merriam, as well as his brothers, Gary, Russel and David Merriam. Thank you Tiny for bringing dedication and love into everything you did, and everything you were a part of. You touched so many lives and made the world a better place just by being in it. Services will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at the Wesleyan Church in Presque Isle. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.duncan-graves.com
