Read More	Rodney "Rod" E Sanders Feb 4, 1941 - Dec 9, 2016 Rodney E. "Rod" Sanders, 75, of Cumberland, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2016, at the Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born Feb. 4, 1941, in Cumberland, Mr. Sanders was the son of the late Paul Richard Sanders and Mary M. (Rechart) Sanders. He was also preceded in death by one son, Anthony Paul Sanders of Kentucky. Rod was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cumberland. He was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1959. Rod was an avid sports fan. He loved the Terps and the Ravens. He was also a former Marine. Rod was employed as a beverage salesman for over 30 years for the Kronheim Company of Baltimore, later to be known as the National Distributing Company. Upon transferring with NDC to his hometown of Cumberland, for several years, he then retired from the beverage industry and joined Long and Foster as a realtor, until full retirement in 2010. Rod is survived by his wife of 25 years, Joyce Ann (Luckiewicz) Sanders; two sons, Rodney Scott Sanders and wife, Victoria, Winterport, Mass., and Todd Walter Sanders, Austin, Texas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two stepchildren, Murray J. Gornall and wife, Shannon, Cumberland, and Amanda J. Koffman and husband, Dr. Bradley H. Koffman, Overland Park, Kan.; and six step-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Paul Richard Sanders and wife, Joanie, Oakland; as well as nephews, Brian and Justin Sanders, Oakland. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland,(www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 16 Washington Street, Cumberland, on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Martha Macgill officiating. A private family interment will take place at Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Summer Lunch Box Program, c/o: Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 16 Washington Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
