Craig Rodney James Craig was born August 27, 1972, in Seward, Nebraska, the first born to James & Janet (Nichols) Craig and passed away suddenly Friday, September 26, 2008 at the University Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 36 years and 30 days. Craig Rodney James Craig was born August 27, 1972, in Seward, Nebraska, the first born to James & Janet (Nichols) Craig and passed away suddenly Friday, September 26, 2008 at the University Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 36 years and 30 days. As a young man, Rod attended Centennial Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1990. He went to work with Lincoln Steel with his father and later was employed with the Beaver Crossing Coop. Rod began his electrical apprenticeship with Dan Geis where he later became a licensed electrical journeyman and worked for many years doing electrical residential and commercial jobs with Geis Electric. He most recently partnered with Mike Paulsen creating, "Mid Plains Electric". Rod was a good friend to most everybody and if anyone needed a hand he was there. Rod loved his family very much, was strong-willed and very persuasive, and had a great sense of humor. Rod is left to mourn his father, James, sister, Kimberly , both of Beaver Crossing, and special friend, Shawn Hengelfelt, Lincoln, brother and sister-in-law, Jeremy & Nicole and nieces, Cheyenne and Sydney, all of Beaver Crossing, grandmothers, Zelma Nichols, Beaver Crossing, Helen Craig, Seward, aunts and uncles and spouses, Gary & Melody Craig, Ulysses, NE, Janet & Ligie Rundell, Pine Bluffs, WY, John & Sue Craig, Brian & Tami Craig and Melissa Craig, all of Seward, Jim & Sue Nichols, Joanie & Robert McLellan, all of Beaver Crossing, Jean Squires, Friend, Judy Schmersal, Seward, numerous cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Rod was preceded in death by his mother, Janet, and his grandfathers, Ervin Nichols and Gordon Craig. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Oct. 1st, 2008 at Milford Mennonite Church, with Pastor Tim Springer officiating. Cremation. No viewing. A register book is available for signing Tuesday from 1-8:00 p.m. at Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Beaver Crossing.
