He went in peace surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born to Wendell and Darlene Arends on March 17, 1951 in Colorado Springs, CO. He went in peace surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born to Wendell and Darlene Arends on March 17, 1951 in Colorado Springs, CO. Shortly after Roger was born, the family moved to Beresford, SD where Roger attended and graduated from Beresford High School in 1969. Roger had many jobs throughout his life, working at Sears, Showplace Wood Products, and Kmart. He also spent many years building bikes for Huffy, and his most recent employment was at Raven Industries. Roger always talked about the wonderful people that he worked with and how much he enjoyed what he was doing. Roger had many hobbies throughout life, mainly including building things such as cabinets, sheds, and trailers. Roger always wanted to build things to make the most space out of anywhere. Roger also had an amazing passion for his four children who he loved very much and would do anything for. He really enjoyed watching his girls play sports and was always very supportive, encouraging them to do their best. Roger was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He had a passion for race cars and enjoyed collecting them. Roger will be missed by many and remembered for all the wonderful helpful things he did while he was with us; he will now be watching over all of us with our heavenly Father. Roger is survived by his four daughters, Amber Johnson of Sioux Falls, Amy Sagness of Sioux Falls, Ashley Tripp of Brandon, and Echo Arends of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by: five grandchildren, Austin, Tiffany, Dawson, Jayden, Breille; his mother, Darlene of Beresford; his sister, Edith of Beresford; his niece, Jennifer (Steven Morgan, Jr.) of Sioux Falls; nephew, John (Melissa) and their daughter Albany of Salt Lake City, UT. Roger is preceded in death by: his father, Wendell; brother, Leonard; brother-in-law, Wayne; and both Grandparents Larson and Arends.
