Description	:	Roger graduated at the top of Yankton High School's class of 1954, and in 1958 he graduated with honors with a degree in Physics from a South Dakota State College in Rapid City that was later called "The School of Mines and Technology". The summer of 1957 he worked in Washington, DC for the government in a job that required high security clearance. After graduation, he took a job with IBM in New York. The summer of 1957 he worked in Washington, DC for the government in a job that required high security clearance. After graduation, he took a job with IBM in New York. Because he was in ROTC in college, he was required to serve a 6 month tour of duty after graduation. IBM allowed him to take time off and he was serving this duty at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland in May of 1959 when he was killed in an off base apartment that he had recently rented with 2 or 3 other fellows.
