Read More	Highland Recorder September 30, 1921 Roger Williams Death Because of an error in the account of the death and burial of Mr. Roger Williams of Little Back Creek the following is published. He was born May 13 1859 and died at his home September, 5 1921. He was converted at a camp meeting near Hightown, Va. more than forty years ago and from that time lived a consistent christian life. As a citizen of his immediate community no one was more honored and respected than he. He joined the Green Hill M.E. church, South and proved his loyalty to the church of his choice by his respect to the general rules of that society. No man had a greater respect for the truth than he. His temperate life proved that he believed in soberness and righteousness. He is survived by his wife and eight children. One daughter, Mrs. Noel, having died Feb. 12 1921. Those remaining are: John, Ernest, Mrs. John Briscoe, Miss Lizzie Williams and Miss Ruth Williams, and Mrs. Dennis Waybright. His death was due to paralysis. He had his first stroke several weeks before his death from which he never recovered. The funeral was conducted by the pastor of the M.E. church, Rev. G.W. Thumm, at the Fairview Church, where his body was laid to rest until the return of his spirit with the Christ at his second coming. Highland Recorder September 9, 1921 Roger Williams Within a few hours of the time Mr. Samples passed away, another aged citizen, resident of Little Back Creek, was called to his reward, Roger Williams was also a prominent citizen and one who was held in high esteem, by all who knew him. His death, was due to paralysis, suffering the first stroke several weeks ago, and never fully rallying. He was approximately 70 years of, age and is survived by a wife and several children, now grown to useful man and womanhood. The sons are Samuel, John, and Frank, and the daughters, Mrs. John Briscoe, Mrs. Dennis Waybright and Miss Lizzie Williams, all of whom were present at the funeral, which took place Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. D. McNeer pastor of deceased
