Born Dec. 16, 1919, in Rowan County, Mr. Clary, a son of the late Reese Guy and Mayree Graham Clary, worked in construction and as a farmer. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army under Gen. George Patton's 4th Armored Division. He was a prisoner of war and a recipient of two Purple Hearts, three Bronze Stars, Distinguished Unit Badge and a Bronze Cluster. He was preceded in death by daughter Jamie Clary Brown and a granddaughter. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lorene Ervin Clary; son Randall Guy Clary, Mount Ulla; daughters Sandra Clary Oliphant, Mount Ulla, Lana Clary McCoy and Rebecca Clary Clemmer, both of Cleveland; brother Milton F. Clary, Mount Ulla; sister Nellie Clary Crook, Sunset Beach, Wilma Clary Davis and Ella Clary Graham, both of Mount Ulla; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Kristie Munday Bramlett and husband, Kelly, and their children, Brice Scott and Blake Bramlett, of Granbury, Texas; her sisters, Sandra Oliphant and her husband, Ralph, of Mt. Ulla; Lana McCoy and her husband, Jerry, of Cleveland, N.C.; her sister-in-law, Linda Clary, of Mt. Ulla; her brother-in-law, Dennis Brown, of Mooresville; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, July 17, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Cemetery with Rev. Mary Louise Sitton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 11020 NC Hwy 801, Mt.
