Huebner Funeral Home, Denison, is in charge of the arrangements. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 25, at Huebner Funeral Home in Denison. Burial was planned for the Morgan Township Cemetery, rural Schleswig, Iowa. Roger Henry Petersen, was born October 4, 1941, in Denison, the son of Walter and Hazel (Carlson) Petersen. He was baptized on November 16, 1941, and confirmed on June 9, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. He graduated from Schleswig High School in 1959 and graduated from the University of South Dakota. He married Jill Strobach and they were the parents of three children. Roger and Jill were later divorced. He was employed as an IRS agent in St. Louis, Missouri for 30 years, until he retired. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all types of sporting events. He traveled the world on cruise ships following his retirement. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Kevin (Nora) Petersen of Burlington and Kris (Susan) Petersen; one daughter, Kimberly (Patrick) Carson; nine grandchildren, Abby, Will, Cal, Kevin, Mia, Colton, Brooke, Sierra and Jake; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Robert Petersen. Huebner Funeral Home, Denison This was reported on October 30, 2020: Roger Henry Petersen was planned to be buried in the Morgan Cemetery, Schleswig, Iowa, and his grave dug, but after a last minute change in plans, Roger's burial location is now unknown. Where he is buried, the care taker who keeps the cemetery records, does not know. Apparently no one knows! I will keep this memorial in Morgan Cemetery, where his parents and brother are buried.
