Description	:	Roger M. Poston, 65, of Villisca, IA died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was born February 18, 1941, in Villisca, Iowa the son of Malcolm Starr and Florence Loretta (Cooney) Poston. Roger graduated from Villisca High School in 1959. He married Mary Lynn Rusk on July 6, 1968, at the United Methodist Church in Villisca. To this union two children were born, Jason and Whitney. Roger farmed near Villisca all his life. Poston, 65, of Villisca, IA died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was born February 18, 1941, in Villisca, Iowa the son of Malcolm Starr and Florence Loretta (Cooney) Poston. Roger graduated from Villisca High School in 1959. He married Mary Lynn Rusk on July 6, 1968, at the United Methodist Church in Villisca. To this union two children were born, Jason and Whitney. Roger farmed near Villisca all his life. He was well known for his volunteer spirit, cheerful attitude and caring heart. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help where needed. He was a member and volunteered his time to many organizations, some of which include: Volunteer E.M.T., Charter Member of Villisca United Methodist Church, Methodist Men, Yard and Garden Club, Optimist Club, Theatre Board, Farm Bureau, Iowa Army National Guard Company F, 34th Infantry, and he took residents of the nursing home to church on Sundays. He was "Citizen of the Year" in 1991, a dedicated race fan, and a wonderful Papa. Roger's favorite time was spent with his family: wife Mary Lynn, children and their spouses: Jason, Darci, Whitney & Scott, his grandchildren: Hunter and Karsyn Poston, and mother-in-law Lois Rusk Lane. He also enjoyed spending "coffee shop" time with friends. Roger is survived by his wife Mary Lynn of Villisca, IA, son Jason Poston and wife Darci of Villisca, IA; daughter Whitney Bogdanski and husband Scott of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren Hunter and Karsyn Poston; sister-in-law Ruth Poston, mother-in-law Lois Rusk Lane, one niece and three nephews and friends too numerous to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Paul Poston. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2006, at the United Methodist Church in Villisca. Burial will be in the Villisca Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church Window Project or the Villisca E.M.T.'s.
