He passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 and had been suffering various health problems for some time. Mr. Hoelting was born March 16, 1927. Hoelting, 88, lifelong Lawrence area resident died Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society, Superior, Nebraska. Mr. Hoelting (known as Rolly) had been fighting various health problems for the past few years. He had been living at home most of the time, but did require extensive medical treatment at times also. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence. Father Thomas Bush officiated at the services. He was assisted by Lector Lyle Schroer and Acolyte Loren Ostdiek. Music was provided by organist Linda Ostdiek and Song Leaders Carla and Carolyn Kohmetscher. Offertory Gift Bearers were three granddaughters. Pallbearers were Rick Hoelting, Gene Kile, Gene Hoelting, Ryan Kile, Randy Hoelting, Ben Spirk, Jason Hoelting, Curt Pavelka. The Knights of Columbus stood Honor Guard for the Service and presented the family with a commemorative cross during the Rosary service. Interment was in the St. Stephen parish cemetery south of Lawrence. A Rosary service was held Tuesday evening at the Sacred Heart parish church. A memorial has been established to be designated at a later date. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, was in charge of arrangements. Roland was born on March 16, 1927 to Albert and Christina (Mazour) Hoelting at Lawrence, Nebraska. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1945. On October 8, 1951 he was married to Marian A. Ostdiek at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Lawrence. He was a lifetime member of the Lawrence area where he farmed and raised livestock. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Roland is survived by his wife Marian, Lawrence; sons Paul & wife Nancy Hoelting and Kurt & wife Kelly Hoelting, Lawrence; sister-in-law Joan Hoelting, Hastings; aunt Betty Hoelting, Austin, Texas; grandchildren Kristen & husband Curt Pavelka, Kearney, Jason Hoelting, Nelson, Kayla & husband Ben Spirk and Kelsey Hoelting, Lincoln; great grandchildren Keeley and Colby Pavelka.
