Description	:	SIDNEY - Roland J. Boucher, 74, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family in Sidney. He left this world and entered into eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and joined his beloved wife of 49 years, Betty, who passed away in January 2005. Boucher, 74, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family in Sidney. He left this world and entered into eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and joined his beloved wife of 49 years, Betty, who passed away in January 2005. Roland was born in Caribou on July 1, 1934, the son of Adelard and Marie (Levesque) Boucher. He was married to Betty A. Drummond on Sept. 5, 1955. Roland was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the tranquility of his home and spending time with his cats. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and the Maine Silver Star. Semper Fi. Roland was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Betty; two brothers, Donald Boucher and Edward Boucher; and a sister, Alvina Guerrette. Roland is survived by two daughters, Lori Jackson and her husband, Lenny Jackson, of Oakland, and Lisa Boucher of Bridgeport, Conn.; two sons, Paul Boucher and his wife, Cheryl, of Clinton, and John Boucher and his wife, Sherri; grandchildren Amy Bell and her husband, Dr. Gregory Bell, of Fairfield, Calif., Kathryn Jackson of Augusta, Krista and Nikki Boucher of Clinton, Melinda Lane of Bangor, Kevin Boucher of Vassalboro, and Brittany and T.J. Boucher of Oakland; three great-grandchildren, Samuel and Ethan Bell, and Brady Wolfe; two brothers, Ernest Boucher and his wife, Pat, and Richard Boucher and his wife, Flora; and two sisters, Eva Gauvin and Hazel Boucher.
