Roland Thayne Lagasse was the only son born to Virgil and Geneva "Jean" Beth Johnson Lagasse. He followed in his father's footsteps and lived to farm the land. Read More	Rollie Lagasse, 46, Ames, died Friday of an apparent heart attack while driving north of Concordia. He was a life long resident of the Ames community. Roland Thayne Lagasse was the only son born to Virgil and Geneva "Jean" Beth Johnson Lagasse. He followed in his father's footsteps and lived to farm the land. Rollie married Rosalie "Hokey" Ann McDaniel on May 28, 1955. Before farming full time they worked in the retail gas business. Two sons were born to this union, Randal Dee in 1956 and Ronald Dean in 1960. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church. In 1960 Rollie graduated from Reich Auctioneer School, Mason City, Iowa. He returned home and established a very successful auction service. He worked very diligently to protect his honesty and integrity. He farmed in partnership with his father and Charlie VanDeMark. He farmed and auctioneered until his untimely death. Preceded in death by his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rosalie "Hokey", of the home; two sons, Randy Lagasse of Concordia and Ronnie (Diana) Lagasse of Ames; his father, Virgil Lagasse and one granddaughter, Genae Lynn Lagasse. The funeral was at the First United Methodist Church, Ames, with burial at the Rice Cemetery.
