Description	:	Roma Rosa Jones was born on January 16, 1902 in Missouri and died on January 17, 1988 at Langley, Mayes Co, Oklahoma. Roma was the daughter of Milas Alexander Jones & Margaret (Maggie) Josephine Boles. She had the following siblings: Lawrence, Susan, Leo, Juanita, Jewel & Charles Clayton. Read More	Roma Rosa Jones was born on January 16, 1902 in Missouri and died on January 17, 1988 at Langley, Mayes Co, Oklahoma. Roma was the daughter of Milas Alexander Jones & Margaret (Maggie) Josephine Boles. She had the following siblings: Lawrence, Susan, Leo, Juanita, Jewel & Charles Clayton. Her sister, Susan, married Wallace Simon, the brother to her first husband, Price. Wallace & Price were twins and my uncles. Roma & Price had married in MO on May 13, 1917. They were both quite young but permission for this marriage was given of "both sets of parents" according to the marriage application. Two daughters from this union: Agnes Rovetta Arline and Dora Josephine Montez. This marriage lasted only 3 years, then Roma and her daughters left Missouri and moved to Oklahoma. Research finds that Roma then married "a Mr. Keating" but by 1930, she was married to Reinhold (Ronald) Herman Abmeyer (on July 3, 1930 in Oklahoma). On August 25, 1945, she married her fourth husband, Harrod Gantz Ashley. They remained married until his death in 1971. Harrod was a pilot and flew a B-17 bomber during WW11. He was shot down by the Germans and ended up in a POW camp (Stalag 17b - 025) for 2 years until the camp was liberated on July 17, 1945 "by members of Patton's 3rd Army". Harrod was discharged from the Army Air Force on Sept 24, 1945. (This information comes from Harrod's nephew, Jim Ball). She had her only children with her first husband, Price Simon. Find A Grave #60292132 belongs to daughter Rovetta. Daughter Dora and husband Howard H. Huffmaster have "a memorial" here at Maysville Cemetery. Photo (above) shows Roma with her 2 daughters (Roma on the left, Rovetta center & Dora on the right). Photo was taken in 1938 (probably in Oklahoma).
