RONNIE--Ronald Allen Nichols, the eldest of the family of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Nichols of Geneva, was born at Fairmont, Neb., August 23, 1934. He attended the schools of Geneva and graduated in the high school class of 1952. The past year he attended the University of Nebraska and Doane college at Crete. He was baptized Easter Sunday, March 28, 1937, by Rev. W. H. Shoaf, and was confirmed into membership of the Methodist church of Geneva, April 22, 1945. He has always been active in the Sunday school and youth fellowship and regular in attendance at the church services. "Ronnie," as he was affectionately called by everyone, was friendly, congenial, courteous and considerate. His habits were regular and honorable. He respected his parents and counselled with his teachers and his minister. His deeply religious and sincere soul recommended and endeared him to everyone. His death was due to an accident while he was at work on the highway south of North Platte, June 11, 1953, at the early age of 18 years, 9 months and 8 days. Besides the father and mother, those left to mourn are two sisters, Rose Adair and Carol jean, and three brothers, Lawrence, Raymond and Thomas. An infant brother,Howard, known as "Nicky" passed on in 1939. There are also both grandmothers, Mrs. Rose McCabe and Mrs. Lillie Nichols, together with two aunts, six uncles and a number of cousins. Services were conducted by Dr. R. E. Pfoutz at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, June 14. The ministry of music was given by Mrs. H. A. Rosenau, who sang "God Will Take Care of You" and "The Lord's Prayer," with Miss Mary Anne Hrubesky at the organ. The pallbearers were high school classmates, Dan Bohi, Richard Dudley, Tom O'Brien, Donald R. Miller, Wincel Nelson Jr., and his roommate at Doane, Frank Rose. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
