Mr. Mercer was born May 7, 1941, a son of the late Walter Henry Mercer and the late Margaret Evelyn Wiggins Mercer. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was an electrician, an inventor, a tinkerer, and a repairman. He loved gardening, building model airplanes, animals, football, and Nascar. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister-in-law, Joan Fulton Mercer. Visitation was 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, in Graham Funeral Home, Georgetown, SC.
