Read More	Ronald Hoover 12-9-04 Hawk Eye, The (Burlington, IA) - Thursday, December 9, 2004 Author: The Hawk Eye Born Sept. 19, 1945, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Walter Joseph and Pearl Arlene "Connie" DeWitt Hoover . On Nov. 12, 1966, he married Judith Ann Simpkins in Mount Pleasant. Mr. Hoover worked for White's Floor Covering of Mount Pleasant following high school graduation. He then began working in the sheet metal field for more than 35 years. He worked with sheet metal for Acco-Bobcock-Louden Machinery in Fairfield. He then was employed by the former Vega Industries in Mount Pleasant. He was briefly self-employed in sheet metal before he returned to Vega after it had become Heatilator. He worked for Heatilator until his health forced him to retire. He was a 1963 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, where he attended mechanical draftsman technical school and received his certification. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Lockridge Lions Club. For eight years he served on the Lockridge City Council. He had also been a coach for the Lockridge Little League Baseball team. He loved to follow the St. Louis Cardinals, NASCAR and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, {names omitted for privacy}; two grandchildren; one brother and three sisters. {names omitted for privacy} Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. today at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant and from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Gathering Space of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral Mass for Mr. Hoover will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Nicholas J. Adam officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the H2O program, Hospice of Central Iowa and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
