A former Superior resident, he died last Thursday in Lincoln at the age of 47 years. Ronald Gene Sample, son of Kenneth and Helen Bachman Sample, was born April 28,1943, in Hastings. He attended school in Juniata and attended high school at Edgar. Aug. 18,1959, he was married to Linda M. Jensen in Mankato. To this marriage four sons and three daughters, were born. Ronald Gene Sample, son of Kenneth and Helen Bachman Sample, was born April 28,1943, in Hastings. He attended school in Juniata and attended high school at Edgar. Aug. 18,1959, he was married to Linda M. Jensen in Mankato. To this marriage four sons and three daughters, were born. Mr. and Mrs. Sample lived in several communities. While living in Superior he worked for the State of Nebraska and as a mechanic for Christensen's Implement Company. Sample was involved in dirt track auto racing in the early 1970's. He was also involved with go cart and midget racing when they were making their home in Hastings. Sample was owner of a semi-truck. Preceding him in death were his mother, Helen, and a son, Merle. Survivors include his wife, Linda, Seward; three daughters, Mrs. Jim Hughes(Dianna) of Superior, Mrs. Steve Scripter (Ronda) of Omaha and Beth Sample of Seward; three sons, Ronald Sample of Hastings, Duane Sample of Germany and Ryan Sample, Seward; eight grandchildren, Christopher and Aaron Hughes of Superior, Andrea Sample of Kearney, Amanda and Whitney Sample of Germany, Sarah and Stephanie Scripter of Superior and Jaimie Scripter of Omaha; one sister, Mrs. Gene Schliechardt (Sharon), of Chapman, three brothers, Kenneth of Pueblo, Colo., twin brother, Donald Sample, Great Bend, Kan., and Roger Sample, Colby, Kan.; father, Kenneth Merle Sample, Alda, Neb.; his mother and father-in-law, Ada and Alvin Jensen, Edgar; and many other relatives. The Rev. Jerry Heydenberk officiated at the services. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. He passed away January 11, 1991, in Lincoln Nebraska, at the age of 47 years. He attended school in Juniata and attended high school at Edgar High School. August 18, 1959, he was married to Linda M. Jensen in Mankato, Kansas. To this marriage for sons and three daughters were born. Ron and Linda had lived in several communities. While living in superior he worked for the State of Nebraska and is a mechanic for Christensen's implement. Ron was involved in dirt track auto racing in the early 1970's and made and kept many friends from that time in his life. He was also involved with go cart and midget racing when they were making their home in Hastings. He was owner and driver of a semi truck, and had made many friends during that time. Preceding him in death were his mother, Helen, and a son, Merle. Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Seward; three daughters, Diana Hughes and her husband Jim of Superior, Ronda Scripter and her husband Steve of Omaha, and Beth Sample of Seward; three sons, Ronald Sample of Hastings, Dewayne and his wife Robin Sample of Germany and Ryan Sample of Seward; eight grandchildren, Christopher and Aaron Sample of Superior, Andrea Sample of Carney, Amanda and Whitney Sample of Germany, Sarah and Stephanie Scripter of Superior and Jamie Scripter of Omaha; one sister, Sharon Schliechardt and her husband Gene of Chapman, Nebraska; three brothers, Kenneth and his wife Nancy Sample of Pueblo, Colorado, his twin brother Donald Sample of Great Bend, Kansas, and Roger and his wife Donna Sample of Colby, Kansas; his father, Kenneth Merle Sample of Alda, Nebraska; and his mother and father-in-law, Ada and Alvin Jensen of Edgar; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Monday, January 14, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior Nebraska, with Rev. Jerry Heydenberk officiating. Music was provided by soloist Carol Shambaugh singing "One Day At A Time" and "Good Night and Good Morning" with Carlita Price as organist and accompanist. Casket bearers were Gary Oeltjen, Bill McLaughlin, Ed Hoffman, Delmer Meyer, Gary Shuck, and Roger Ostrander. Honorary pallbearers were Willis Heiden, Max Darling, Sam Willett and Larry Sprague.
