Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Latta Methodist Church. The Rev. George S. Taylor, his pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Woodrow Ward of Hartsville, a former pastor. Read More	Latta, May 2 (Special) - Ronald Gordon Vereen, 73, died Friday at 4:30 a.m. in McLeod Infirmary, Florence, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Latta Methodist Church. The Rev. George S. Taylor, his pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Woodrow Ward of Hartsville, a former pastor. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. He was born in Horry County, son of the late J.F. and Lucy Permenter Vereen. He came to Latta from Murrell's Inlet 35 years ago. He established a drug, hardware and grocery business in partnership with the late Dr. Major. For many years he has farmed extensively besides operating his grocery. He was a member of Dalcho Lodge No. 160 AFM. He served for several years as a steward of Latta Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Estelle Limehouse Vereen; two daughters, Mrs. T.C. McSwain and Mrs. Travis Ford, both of Dillon; four sons, the Rev. Lafon Vereen, pastor of Warrenton, N.C. Methodist Church, Thomas L. Vereen of Springfield, Ohio, R.G. Vereen Jr. and Carlyle Vereen, both of Latta; a brother, B.H. Vereen of Murrell's Inlet; a sister, Mrs. LeGrand Smith of Charleston and 14 grandchildren.
