The boy died last Wednesday afternoon, shortly after being injured by the blast from, a dynamite cap. Rev. H. L. Adix was in charge of the funeral service; burial was at Oakwood cemetery. It was a Goettsch service. Ronny Mowrey was born in Anamosa on March 1, 1941, the first child of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mowrey. When he was about 2 years old, the family moved to Monticello where their home has been made ever since. Starts Instruction Baptized in St. Paul's Lutheran church, Anamosa, Ronny had just started taking his confirmation instruction, having attended only one class at the church here. Called by his family the "hard luck kid," Ronny underwent an operation when two and another when he was four years old. He started to school here in 1946, but was hit with rheumatic fever in the first grade and had to repeat the grade after being out of school for about 2 months. Young Mechanic Ronny's mother, the former Lois Gerdes, says that the little fellow was a born mechanic. He was deeply interested in his father's work at the Energy Equipment Co. and was always tinkering with something. The last purchase for which he saved up his own money was a working combine machine to go with one of his toy tractors. Summers, Ronny almost lived on farms of relatives around Monticello. Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Linda, who is 9 years old and in the 4th grade. His maternal Grandmother also survives. Pall bearers Saturday included Gerald Pasker, Edward Grote, Otto Smith and Harold Meeks. Honorary pall bearers were Ronny's cousins, Garry Rieniets, Philip Gerdes, Thomas Preston and Gerald Preston.
