Description	:	Ronald Osten, 64, of Creston, Nebraska, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his home in Creston.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church (14 miles North), rural Columbus, Nebraska, with Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Creston, Nebraska. Military honors will be given by the American Legion Pieper Post #306 Honor Guard. There will be a family prayer service on Wednesday at 10:15 AM at the church.Ronald Vern Osten was born September 2, 1942, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Werner and Hilda (Luedtke) Osten. He attended school in Creston and St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Creston High School in 1960. Ron entered the U.S. Army on May 8, 1964, and was honorably discharged May 6, 1966. On January 21, 1967, Ron married Lois Eisenmann in Madison, Nebraska. Ron worked at the Creston Grain & Lumbar Company, and on the farm for Dr. Deyke. In 1975, Ron went to work at the Platte Center Co-Op and worked there for 25 years where he was a commercial sprayer. In 2000, Ron went to work at Behlens and worked there until his health forced him to retire. Ron enjoyed all types of craftwork, especially woodworking. He liked to go hunting, fishing, and enjoyed reading. Ron was also an avid Nebraska football fan.
