Description	:	The funeral of Mrs. Amos Means, who died of appendicitis Wednesday morning of last week, after a short illness was held at the home three miles northeast of Villisca, Friday afternoon under the ministration of Rev C. J. English of Shenandoah and P. V. D. Vedder of Villisca. Interment was in the cemetery here. Mrs. Means, whose maiden name was Rosa Gertrude Adams, was born in Mercer County, Illinois, November 6, 1856 and was therefore fifty years, nine months, and eight days of age at the time of her death. Read More	The funeral of Mrs. Amos Means, who died of appendicitis Wednesday morning of last week, after a short illness was held at the home three miles northeast of Villisca, Friday afternoon under the ministration of Rev C. J. English of Shenandoah and P. V. D. Vedder of Villisca. Interment was in the cemetery here. Mrs. Means, whose maiden name was Rosa Gertrude Adams, was born in Mercer County, Illinois, November 6, 1856 and was therefore fifty years, nine months, and eight days of age at the time of her death. She resided in Mercer County until she was seven years old, when with her parents she moved to Knox County, Illinois, where she was marred to Amos Means, January 25, 1880. With her husband she went to Brown County, Illinois to live, but at the expiration of one year, there they returned to Mercer county, where they resided during the following twelve months. After their residence in Mercer County, they came to Iowa and took up their abode in the home where she died. Surviving Mrs. Means are a husband, three daughters, and one son. The names of the children are Mrs. E. G. For of Meadville, Missouri, Florence, Clyde, Marie Means who are at home. She is also survived by a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson R. Adams of Rio, Illinois, and four brothers and two sisters, all of whom except one sister were present at the obsequies Friday. The names of the brothers are H. M. Adams of Oxford, Nebraska, Ed A. Adams of Liberty, Nebraska, Clyde Adams of Rio, Illinois, and Otis Adams of Liberty, Nebraska. The sisters are Mrs. R. W. Mount of Liberty, whose husband was here to the funeral and Mrs. Alice Rittenhouse of Rio, Illinois, who was here for the funeral. Mrs. Means was a member of the Methodist Church since girlhood and was a highly esteemed, loving, and noble Christian character. The community mourned her death.
