Honorary pallbearers were the Christian Mothers. Rosalia was born Sept. 26, 1912, at Constance, to Herman and Christine (Schroeder) Steffen and grew up in the Constance area. Before her marriage, she was the organist at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Constance. She married Ludwig A. Lammers Aug. 17, 1937, at Constance. They farmed southwest of Fordyce. Ludwig died Aug. 15, 1975, at the age of 67. Rosalia had been a resident of Avera Sister James Care Center since July 2005. She was a member of the Christian Mothers, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Guild. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rosalia is survived by six children and their spouses, Roger Lammers, Hartington; Janet and Ronald Kramer, Pierce; Norman and Phyllis Lammers, Hartington; Kenneth and Juanita Lammers, Hartington; Judy and Rodney Mace, Tyndall, S.D.; Kathy and Mick Reifenrath, Crofton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers and their spouses, Robert and Clara Steffen, Bennington, and Andrew and Rita Steffen, Crofton; four sisters and spouses, Eleanor and Pete Burbach, Hartington; Mary Vanderheiden, Laurel; Elizabeth and Harry Walton, Alameda, Calif.; and Ramona and Richard Meuret, Sioux City, Iowa; three sisters-in-law, Johanna Steffen, Crofton; Betty Steffen, Crofton; and Margaret Lammers, Hartington; and one brother-in-law, Roman Bockholt, Sioux City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Rosemary Lammers; three brothers, Greg, Walter, and Ignatius Steffen and his wife, Hilda Steffen; a sister and her husband, Bernadette and Hank Vanderheiden.
