Funeral services for Mrs. John Litty, Sr., who passed away at her home in North David City at 10:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, from heart trouble and effects of a broken hip, having been in failing health about four years, were held at 9:00 o'clock Thursday morning, July 30, at St. Mary's Catholic church, David City. Requiem High Mass was said by Rev. Father Raymond Wageman. Music was by St. Mary's choir, Mrs. Paul B. Collins organist. Six grandsons of Mrs. Litty, Andrew, Lawrence, Leo, Fred, John and Bernard Litty were pallbearers. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. Relatives in attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O'Connell and son, Thomas, Jr., and Mrs. Florence Zahm from Spaulding, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richter and four children from Kearney and Mrs. Andrew Gibb and son, John, and daughter, Amy, from Ulysses. Mrs. Litty was in her 81st year at time of her passing. She was born Rosalia Ege, daughter of John and Rosena Ege, in Wurtemburg, Germany, on June 5, 1850. When a child her parents came to America and she grew to young womanhood near Iowa City, Iowa, coming to Nebraska in a covered wagon with her parents in 1867, they settling near Barada, Richardson county. She was married to John Litty at Rulo November 28, 1871. Mr. and Mrs. Litty moved to Butler county in 1885 and lived on a farm until December, 1903, when they moved to David City. Six children, three sons and three daughters, were born to Mr. Litty. One daughter and one son preceded their mother in death. The children who with their father survive are Frank Litty and Misses Mary and Anna Litty of David City and Joseph Litty of Burlington, Colo. Nine grandchildren also survive Mrs. Litty. Mrs. Litty was a kindy woman, a good wife and mother, and had made many friends during her lifetime.
