Description	:	Rose Behlen, 91, of Columbus, died Oct. 17, 2018, at her home in Columbus. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, at St. Luke's United Church of Christ, with The Rev. Adam Lassen officiating. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Gass Haney Funeral Home, and will continue from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. Rosalie Doris Behlen was born on March 31, 1927, to Fred and Melissa (Foutch) Reitz, near Meadow Grove, in Madison County. She graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1945. Rose was united in marriage to Harlan Schott in 1945. She later married Vernon Elkins in 1960. On April 4, 1986, Rose was united in marriage to Gilbert “Gib” Behlen. Rose was a devoted homemaker and caregiver, she greatly enjoyed her flower gardens and pets. She also enjoyed antiques, playing cards and Yahtzee, traveling and going to the casino. Rose is survived by her daughter Marilyn Campain of Columbus, son Ron (Nancy) Schott of Milliken, Colorado; son Wayne (Cecelia) Schott of Madison, daughter Sherry (Jim) Pfeifer of Columbus, daughter Vernalie (Ben) Dreifurst of Columbus, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, step-daughter Loree (Mike) Elkins Steffan of Oklahoma; step-daughter-in-law Pat Elkins of Colorado; step-son Rodney (Georgia) Behlen of Columbus, step-son Kurt (Debbie Kroeker) Behlen of Okeechobee, Florida; step-daughter Sharon Caley of Columbus, 12 step-grandchildren, 24 Step-great-grandchildren and six step-great-great-grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Melissa (Foutch) Reitz, husband Vernon Elkins, husband Gilbert Behlen, son-in-law Wendall Campain, grandson Bryan Pfeifer, step-son Dean Elkins, step-daughter Beverly Elkins Reddens, step grandsons Jacob and Benjamin Behlen, brothers Donald and Herbert Reitz, sisters Ruby Scheffler, Almeda Reitz and Wynona Reitz.
