Funeral mass will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 10, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church in Watertown. Father Paul Rutten will be the celebrant, Danielle Holmquist-Holida will be the organist with Paul Moneke and Marie Coon as soloists. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-4:00 p.m. with the scripture service starting at 2:00 p.m., at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown. Rosamond Lillian Fouquette was born on May 25, 1934 in Foley, Minnesota, the daughter of Theodore J. and Lillian (Fernholz) Fouquette. She attended grade school at District 10, Benton County, and was valedictorian of her Foley High School class. Rosamond met the greatest man in her world, Clarence Dennis Fox, when she came to Watertown, South Dakota for a summer job in 1951. They married on September 25, 1954 in Foley, Minnesota and eventually settled in Decatur, Illinois, where they lived for almost 30 years. Rosamond got her Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University in 1975. She then realized her calling and became a 4th grade teacher at Muffley Elementary School in Decatur. Rosamond and Clarence traveled the world and spent their last years together in Seoul, South Korea. After Clarence’s death in 1990, Rosamond returned to Watertown, fulfilling their dream to retire in his hometown. Rosamond is survived by her children, Taylor Fox of Watertown, SD, Kelly (Page) Fox of Athens, IL, Cordell (Phyllis) Fox of Grant, FL, Melanie (Dave) Morrow of Watertown, SD, Stanton Fox of Watertown, SD and Steven (Lisa) Fox of Lead, SD; 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Marilyn McConnell of Milwaukee, WI and Teddi Foster of Conroe, TX. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence; parents; sister, Gail Thompson; brother, Roger; and grandson, Andrew Lomax. Rosamond is lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and neighbors, who were so very kind, generous, and helpful to her during her long, brave battle with cancer. A special thanks to Paul and Tammy Sieg, Prairie Lakes Cancer Center, the people from Persona, her Hospice caregivers, and many others too numerous to mention. Rosamond’s last note to her children included a request to “remember me with fun and laughter and good times you recall.”
