Description	:	Rosamond Marie Biel, 73, of DeWitt, Iowa, died and was received into Heaven Monday evening, May 25, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa surrounded by her loving family. She was born May, 14, 1942, in Clinton, Iowa, to Leo and Rosalie (McGarry) Trimble. She graduated from Mount Saint Claire High School in 1960 in Clinton and attended nurses training in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from Mount Saint Claire High School in 1960 in Clinton and attended nurses training in Marshalltown, Iowa. On February 17, 1968, Rosamond was united in marriage to Louis Biel at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Villa Nova, Iowa. The couple resided at rural DeWitt, where they raised their family of seven children. Rosamond worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, DeWitt Community Hospital and a doctor’s office. In later years, she was employed by Central Community Schools in the food service department. She enjoyed the kids and the kids enjoyed her. Rosamond loved God and had a strong devotion to the Catholic faith. She was a member of the former St. Patrick Catholic Church, Villa Nova and Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte, Iowa. Rosamond spent numerous hours volunteering for different church functions. She had a passion for all people and found great joy in helping others. Rosamond enjoyed spending time in the Kindergarten classroom at St. Joseph School, DeWitt. She especially loved spending time with her family, visiting over tea and cheering on her beloved Cubs. Rosamond’s most cherished times were shared with her best friend and loving husband, Louie. Surviving are her husband, Louis; children, Melanie (Mark) Smith of Van Meter, Iowa, Louis (Mona) Biel of Davenport, Iowa, Molly (Daryl Budde) Bierman of Preston, Iowa, Lance (Ashley) Biel of Wichita, Kansas, Luke (Julie Howes) Biel of DeWitt, Landon (Melissa) Biel of Dayton, Ohio, Levi Biel of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Cameron, Marshall and Harrison Smith, Wyatt, Libby and Abigail Bierman, Michael, Aryanna and Will Budde, Henry, Rosemary and Baby Biel, Jackson and Delany Kutka and Charlie Biel; her mother, Rosalie Trimble of DeWitt; siblings, Rita (Jim) Schafer of Bardstown, Kentucky, Mary Kay (Don) Shumaker of Davenport, Maureen (Dennis) Schrader of Welton, Iowa, Lee (Linda) Trimble of McHenry, Illinois, Beth (Gary) Burke of DeWitt, Becky (Tom) Burke of Charlotte, Teresa (Bill) Edwards of DeWitt, Peggy (Joel) Carstensen of Charlotte, Loren (Anne) Trimble of Schaumburg, Illinois, Garry (Gayle) Trimble of DeWitt and Joe (Rusti) Trimble of St. Paul, Minnesota; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceding Rosamond in death were her father, Leo; an infant sister, Rosalie Frances a niece, Stephanie Shumaker; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Mary Biel; a brother-in-law, Clifford Biel and a sister-in-law, Cynthia Moore. The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Joseph Church, DeWitt from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, with a vigil service at 4:30 p.m. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, in the church witht the Rev. Fr. Scott Lemaster officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Villa Nova. A special thank you to Genesis Hospice for their care and compassion. Pallbearers will be Mike Schafer, Donnie Schumaker, Rick Schrader, Matt Trimble, Will Burke, Jeremy Burke, Nathan Edwards and Ryan Carstensen.
