Mr. Beck was born in Surry County, NC, on May 11, 1942, to the late Mr. Otis Augustus and Della Annalee Kirkman Beck. Mr. Beck was born in Surry County, NC, on May 11, 1942, to the late Mr. Otis Augustus and Della Annalee Kirkman Beck. Mr. Beck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend that will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Roscoe was a faithful member of Mount Bethel Moravian Church. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 54 years, Edith Marie Atkinson Beck of the home; daughters and sons-in-law: Melissa Beck Hiatt and Kelly of Mount Airy, Valerie Beck Faw and Mitchell of Mount Airy; grandchildren: Kelsey Hiatt Perley and husband Bradford of Brevard, NC, Ross Hiatt and wife Kayla of Ararat, VA, Dylan Faw and wife Adrianna of Mount Airy, Kaylan Faw of Mount Airy; great-grandchildren: Kara Hiatt and Baby Perley; brothers and sister-in-law: Paul Beck and Ralph Beck and Patricia; many nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beck was preceded in death by an infant sister, Suzetta Beck; sisters: Ella Mae Beck Pruitt, Irene Beck Easter, Belva Beck Semones, Brenda Faye Beck Fischer; brothers: Oscar Harrison Beck, Claude Augustus Beck, William Otis Beck, and Archie Franklin Beck. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy; burial will follow at Mount Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Fishel officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 2019 of Mount Airy and VFW Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends from noon until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to Mount Bethel Moravian Church, c/o Rhonda Hiatt, 1610 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
