She was born in Wapello count, May 28, 1873, and was the daughter of Joseph and Frances Bentley Sheppard. She had been a resident of Ottumwa most of her life, her present home is at 314½ East Main street. She is survived by her husband, James H. Landen; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Poncy of Ottumwa; a son, George J. McDonough, living in California; eight grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry Skinner, two sisters, and a brother. Poncy, Sr. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Charles Poncy, Ottumwa; a son, George J. McDonough, living in California; eight grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, James Sheppard, Ottumwa.
