Welsh, 67, of 433 Vine street, Westernport, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary (George P.) Ord, 417 Maryland avenue, was celebrated Wednesday morning in St. Peter's Catholic church by her nephew, Very Rev. Monsignor E. Robert Arthur, St. Matthew's Cathedral, Washington, D. C. Msgr. Antonino Scarpati, pastor and Rev. George J. Pugh and Rev. Charles H. Quinn, assistant pastors of St. Peter's Catholic church, and Rev. Kenneth Carney, pastor of St. Peter's church, Oakland, were in the sanctuary. Interment was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Francis Cosgrove, Joseph Dick, John Schaeffer, Jerome Laffey, Vincent Laffey and Harry McIntyre. Born in Phoenix, near Westernport, Mrs. Welsh was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Gannon Louth. She had resided in Westernport all her life. Bedfast for four months, she had resided with her daughter for the past two months. Her husband, John R. Welsh died in 1939. Mrs. Welsh was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, the church Sodality and the alumni association. She is a graduate of the parish high school. Besides Mrs. Ord, she is survived by five sons, Joseph P. Welsh, Washington, D. C.; Capt. John L. Welsh, U. S. Army, Germany; Edward F. Welsh, Dallas, Texas; M. Sgt. Charles Robert Welsh, U. S. Marine Corps, Honolulu; Bernard P. Welsh, at home; another daughter, Miss Betty Welsh, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Thomas M. Arthur, Mrs. Nora White, Miss Lucy Louth, all of Baltimore, and eleven grandchildren. Among the out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Arthur, Miss Lucy Louth, Leo White, Mrs. R. O. Brooks, Mrs. David Wilson, Charles Brown and Mrs. Owen Harris, all of Baltimore; Mrs. Vincent Bambrick, Pottsville, Pa.; Mrs. Michael Comer, Wilkinsburg, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Welsh and daughter, Margaret, Washington, D. C.; Patrick Tierney, Cumberland. Edward Welsh, of Dallas, Texas, flew home Monday 2 November and Capt. John Welsh of Germany, arrived last Thursday to visit their mother who was critically ill at the time."
