Burial was at Minden Cemetery before the memorial service. —— Marie was born June 5, 1919, to John and Clara (Dornhoff) Albers northeast of Minden. She graduated from Minden High School in 1936. She taught school at District 29 north of Axtell. Marie married Orval Christensen on Oct. 15, 1938. Two sons were born to them, Robert and Vernon. They lived and farmed northeast of Minden until 1947 when they moved southeast of Minden. They moved into Minden in 1976. Marie was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church. She seldom spoke of her faith because she lived it. God was in her life, and she knew he was in charge. Throughout the years she enjoyed attending Westminster United Presbyterian Church. She taught Sunday school for several years and helped with Youth Club when it started. She did a lot of embroidering, cooking, baking (especially pies), gardening and canning. She made quilts and quilted several. She and Orval especially liked to go fishing and boating and play cards with family and friends. Survivors include her sons, Robert and wife Audrey of Minden and Vern and wife Carol of Axtell; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Christensen of Minden; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Orval; parents; one sister, Mabel Johnson; and two brothers, Henry Albers and Howard Albers.
