Description	:	OBIT: Rose Marie Hughes, 87, Ellensburg, died Saturday at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. She was born in Ellensburg on October 28, 1898, a daughter of George L. and Crescentia (Schindler) Vandenberg. She attended Ellensburg schools and, following graduation from business college in Seattle, she worked as an assistant in the optical office of Dr. Mahon in Ellensburg for several years. Mrs. Hughes was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. She and Frank C. Hughes were married in Ellensburg on September 15, 1924. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1972. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clayton (Jeannette) Myers of Auburn; two grandchildren, David Myers of Federal Way and Stephen Myers of Kent; six great grandchildren; one brother, Albert Vandenberg of Seattle and three sisters, Emma Charles of Ellensburg, Freda McDerment of Seattle and Eleanor Liston of Whidbey Island. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, also at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Co-celebrants will be the Rev. Thomas Vandenberg and the Rev. John Murtagh. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewing will be at Cotton Chapel from 7-9 p.m. Monday. The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Children's Orthopedic Hospital, 4800 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, 98105, or to the cancer fund in care of Mrs. H. E. Railsback, 202 S.
