OBITUARY THE CHARITON PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, December 7, 1961 Rosanna Jane Schnebly Heston, daughter of John and Mary Ann Pim Schnebly, was born on a farm west of Lucas, Dec. 21, 1870 and passed away Nov. 28, 1961 at the home of her daughter, Elsie Thrasher of Des Moines, at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 7 days, after a lingering illness. She was a pioneer resident of the area and was united in marriage to George Lewis Heston, Jan. 5, 1890. To this union were born six sons and five daughters. They are: Elsie Thrasher of Des Moines; J. Lewis Heston of Russell; Harry Heston of Lucas; Rolland Heston (preceding her in death April 16, 1960); Lillian Page of Des Moines; Blanche Danner of Russell; Bessie Wing and Lucy Danner of Derby; Walter E. Heston of Bethesda, Maryland; and Howard and Herman both of Lucas. Her husband George Lewis Heston passed away March 4, 1925. There are 44 grandchildren, 99 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Anna spent all of her married life on the same farm in Lucas County, staying there until the last child was married. She lived for a time in Chariton and then moved to Woodburn. Because of poor health, she went to Des Moines Dec. 16, 1960. Anna's life was devoted to her family and friends. Her main recreation was reading, playing the organ or piano and singing, which her many friends will remember.
