Son of George Lewis Heston and Roseanna Jane Schnebly OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, November 2, 1971 HESTON Harry Ross Heston, son of George and Roseanna Heston, was born Dec. 31, 1894 in Lucas County, Iowa and departed from this life Oct. 22, 1971, at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital in Chariton at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 22 days. He grew to manhood on the home farm and attended school at Springhill. He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at the Billy Sunday revival service in Omaha, Neb. as a young man. At a later date he was baptized into the Baptist church. On October 20, 1917 he was united in marriage to Elsie Ann Danner. To this union seven children were born: Dorothy Sylvara of Lucas; Lois Miller of Murray; Norma Lancaster of Lacona; Minnie Wilson of Des Moines; George Heston of Humeston; John Heston of Derby; and Ross Heston, who preceded him in death in 1925. He was also preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 1953, his parents, one brother, Rolland, 2 sisters, Elsie Thrasher and Bessie Wing, and 1 grandson, Bobby Dean Sylvara. He is survived by 3 sisters: Mrs. Lillian Page of Des Moines; Mrs. Blanche Danner of Russell; Mrs. Lucy Danner of Derby; four brothers: J. Lewis of Russell; Walter E. of Washington, D.C.; Howard and Herman of Lucas; six children; 18 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be missed by all. Services were held Monday Oct. 25, at the Presbyterian Church in Lucas with the Rev. Silas Anderson and the Rev. Sam Baniqued officiating. Burial was in the Ottawa Cemetery.
