Description	:	Rosella Celestine "Rosie" Poly was born in France, d/o George Chrysostome "Chris" and Mary Rose Besanceney Poly, and died in Darke County, Ohio, aged 66y 03m 16d. Although no records have been found and no inscription is on the stone, it is presumed that Rosie is buried here with her husband, Jacob Phillip "Jake" Shappy, according to several of their grandchildren. Jacob Phillip "Jake" and Rosella Celestine "Rosie" Poly Shappy are the parents of seven children: 01. Joseph Shappy - born 1859, died 02 Oct 1870 (age 11) and is buried in Holy Family Cemetery* 02. Mary Shappy - born 06 Jul 1859, died 06 Nov 1890, buried Weaver-Teacup Cemetery. She married William Brown and they had two sons. 03. Augustine Shappy (female) -born 1866, and died 22 Oct 1870 (age 4) - she is buried in Holy Family Cemetery* 04. Xavierus Philip Shappy - born 26 Apr 1869 in Darke County Ohio, and died 20 Oct 1870 (age 1); buried in Holy Family Cemetery* 05. Jacob Shappy, Jr. - born 1870, and died02 Oct 1870, the same day as his older brother, Joseph. Family legend says the two boys were buried together in the same grave in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. 06. Rosa Josephine Shappy - born 09 Sep 1871, and died 24 Dec 1829. She married Ed Putterbaugh - they are buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, Miami County, Ohio 07.
