Description	:	Roselyn Maurine Prouty was born on a farm northeast of Bryant, South Dakota on March 23, 1937 to Ole P. and May W. (Shelsta) Prouty. She was baptized and confirmed in the Apostolic Lutheran Church of which she was a life long member. Roselyn attended rural school and graduated from Hayti High School. After high school she attended Dakota State College in Madison, SD and later obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD. Read More	Roselyn Maurine Prouty was born on a farm northeast of Bryant, South Dakota on March 23, 1937 to Ole P. and May W. (Shelsta) Prouty. She was baptized and confirmed in the Apostolic Lutheran Church of which she was a life long member. Roselyn attended rural school and graduated from Hayti High School. After high school she attended Dakota State College in Madison, SD and later obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in education from Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD. Roselyn taught in rural South Dakota schools for a few years before teaching in Bellingham, MN. She spent the majority of her teaching career in Minneota, MN where she retired. She touched the lives of many young people and left lasting impressions on her students in her 40 plus years as an educator. After retiring, Roselyn made her home with her mother and brother Ray of rural Bryant. For the past two years she had been a resident of Jenkins Living Center in Watertown. Roselyn was an accomplished seamstress and made many dresses for her nieces and great nieces when they were small. She loved to read and make ceramics which beautifully decorated her home. She spent a great deal of time making her surroundings beautiful by planting flowers and taking care of her yard. Roselyn treasured the many birthday and holiday celebrations with her nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was a loving and caring sister and aunt. During the summer months she enjoyed traveling around the United States with her mother. Grateful for having shared her life are one brother, Roger (Ludelle) Prouty of rural Hayti, SD; two sisters, Lavonne Minor of Brookings, SD and Loretta (Vernon) Tetzlaff of rural Hayti, SD; 18 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ray Prouty and three brothers in infancy, Duane and twins, Larry and Harry; her brother-in-law, Loyd Minor; and her nephew, Donald Prouty. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
