Visitation on Tuesday from 4pmCT to 8pmCT and any time Wednesday morning until time for service. Rosemary Hancock Gillespie, 83, Taylor Co., KY/Adair native (1933-2016) She was born on July 6, 1933 & raised in Cane Valley, Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Samuell Nathan Banks & Rose Mae Shepherd Hancock. She died Sunday, December 4, 2016, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 83 years, four months, and 28 days. She was the widow of David Earl Gillespie who preceded her in death on July 1, 2013; she was also preceded in death by one brother and four sisters, Samuell Hancock, Jr.; Judith Ann Sewell; Rachel Breeding; Sarah Branham; and Doris Hubbard. She is survived by: Two special great nieces & a special great nephew: Julie Breeding, Jaime Hitch, and Joey Breeding all of Columbia, KY One nephew: Stephen Breeding of Columbia, KY One niece: Phyllis Belew of Louisville, KY along with several other nieces, nephews, and a host of family friends She was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and also attended her child hood church, the Cane Valley Christian Church. She attended a country grade school in Cane Valley, KY, Columbia High School and graduated from Lindsey Wilson College in 1954. She did her graduate & masters work at Campbellsville College and Western Kentucky University. She taught school in Taylor County School for 45 years. In 1961 Rosemary married David Gillespie from Bethel, Ohio. They both taught & worked in their respective schools until they retired.
