She was born October 30, 1928, on the family farm near Neosho Rapids, the daughter of William and Mabel (Mounkes) Sunquist. Read More	The Emporia Gazette Friday, January 23, 2015 Rosemary Bulson, 86, of Neosho Rapids, Kansas, passed away Tuesday night, January 20, 2015, at the Presbyterian Manor in Emporia. She was born October 30, 1928, on the family farm near Neosho Rapids, the daughter of William and Mabel (Mounkes) Sunquist. Rosemary was raised on the farm and graduated from Neosho Rapids High School in 1946. From 1946 until 1949 she was employed as a sales clerk at Crown Drug Store in Emporia. On August 7, 1949, she and George E. Bulson were married on the Sunquist farm. They became the parents of two sons and a daughter. Following her and George’s marriage Rosemary worked as a saleswoman for Kansas Power and Light and also at Hallmark Cards and Montgomery Wards. Her later years were spent as a caregiver. She worked as a C.N.A. for a time but what she really took joy in was caring for family and friends in their home. She cared for her Mother, other family members, and several others. Rosemary truly loved caring for and helping other people, especially children. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events and activities. Rosemary was a longtime member of the Neosho Rapids United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for more than twenty years. She and George were divorced in 1979 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2014. Rosemary suffered a stroke in 2008 and had been a resident of several nursing centers before moving to the Presbyterian Manor. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother, Donald Sunquist. She leaves her children, George W. Bulson, Hartford, Mark Bulson and wife Kellie, Emporia, and Pamela O’Connor, Burlington; four grandchildren, Jessie and Danielle Bulson and Katlyn and Jacquelyn O’Connor; two great-grandchildren, Macen and Tysin Bulson; her sister, Elaine Wilson, Madison; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the Neosho Rapids United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Neosho Rapids. The family will meet with friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Neosho Rapids United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
