Description	:	Rosena (Rose) Carolina Westerbuhr was born the sixth child of eight children to Henry Dorn and Rosina Magdalena (Stein) Dorn on March 15, 1913, northwest of Macon, in Franklin County, Nebraska. She departed this life, Saturday afternoon, August 23, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was 90 years old. She departed this life, Saturday afternoon, August 23, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was 90 years old. Rose was baptized on March 31, 1913, at the Zion Lutheran Church west of Macon on March 31, 1913, and was confirmed at that same church on April 24, 1926. She attended the Lynch Rural School District No. 59 near Macon where she graduated from the eighth grade. On April 3, 1932, Rose was united in marriage to Tom Eilers Westerbuhr at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church south of Hildreth, Nebraska. To this union three children were born; Margie Ann, Lloyd Marvin and Elvera Mae. For two years the Westerbuhrs made their home on a farm north west of Hildreth. In the spring of 1934, the family moved to a farm northeast of Macon where they resided until March of 1939, when they moved to a farm east of Keene, Nebraska. They finally moved to their own farm south of Wilcox, Nebraska in 1946. They retired from farming in 1976, but continued to reside on the farm until moving to their home at 112 West Detroit Street in Wilcox in 1986. Tom preceded Rose in death on May 27, 1995. She then moved to an apartment at 5410 North 17th Ave. in Kearney in February of 2002. Rose was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wilcox where she had been an active member of L.W.M.L. She was also a former member of extension clubs at Keene and Wilcox. In addition to her husband, Rose was preceded in death by her father in 1946; her mother in 1956; five brothers, Reinhardt Dorn in 1969; Tom Dorn in 1975; Herman Dorn in1990 and John Dorn in 2002; two sisters Katie Fritson in 1974 and Hannah Frerichs in 1987.
